The publicity of The Monkees started before they had a television show.Dean Jeffries created a dream car called The Monkeemobile to use in The Monkees television series.They first had a photo shoot with the car.Davy Jones,Mike Nesmith,Peter Tork,and Micky Dolenz where chosen to be this new band.They had different backgrounds.Two were muscians,and two were actors.
