  David Fishof first was thinking about
promoting Hermits Hermits,but then
The Monkees,were more popular too.
  In 1985 David Fishof promoted the tour
The Happy Together,that included groups
Gary Pucket & The Union Gap  as well as,
Hermits Hermits, and also Grass Roots.


  In 1985 David Fishof  then approached 
Peter Tork with the idea of The Monkees
Twentieth Reunion Tour.Peter Tork first
rejected the idea.However,he agreed to
see one show of The Happy Together Tour
concert backstage,before making his final
decision.Peter was impressed and agreed
to travel to Nottingham  England,to see if
Micky would go for the idea.Micky was
reluctant at first,since he was a television
and video director success in England,he
was unsure of any interest of seeing the
band The Monkees in concert. Fishof  and
Peter found Davy taking care of his horses
and starring in the production of Godspell
in London. Fishof persisted and both Davy
and Micky agreed to a reunion.Michael
wanted to attend the reunion but he was in
in a tight jam,he couldn't get out of,with his
producing the film Square Dance.Michael
voiced his support on the trio  his desire play
when had time allowed,with The Monkees.
Michael  told Philadelphia Daily News" I'm
behind you all the way."
     MTV agreed to cross promote the band
The Monkees on February 23,1986 with a
weekend marathon.The result was a new
genation of The Monkees fans were born.
MTV General Manager said:"We've never
received this volumn of mail."He then had
said:"We were dumbfounded by the whole
thing." The storm was perfect to ignite,the
band,The Monkees. Rhino Records released
nine original albums plus two new ones.One
is The Monkees Flips and Monkee Business
which is a very valuable picture disc.One
side has The Monkees from 1968,and other
is black and white with blond in a bikini  
    In 1986 David Fishof  was allowed to use
 The Monkees from Columbia for $3,500,to
promote The Monkees Twentieth Reunion
Anniversary Tour.The story is in a silver
active link with many pictures including
Michael Nesmith,Davy Jones,Micky Dolenz,
and Peter Tork The Monkees.
The Monkees Twentieth Anniversary Reunion
   The Monkees  were the biggest grossing
sales of the year.It started by booking small
amphitheaters for 6 weeks.After  this MTV
heavy promotion,new generation of fans
were born, and demand for ticket sales had
skyrocketed.They had to use large arenas
and stadiums.
    The First Day Tour Was Actually May 24
Concord Hotel,Kiamesha Lake,NY.I have
the Tour Schedule Date List,Even Though
They Had A Press Conference On May 28,
Which Was Held Because The Popularity 
Of The Monkees,To Make It 100-Plus Days.
Also Michael Nesmith,Wanted To Be At
The Press Conference,But was Not Able To
Come,So He send a Dummy To Represent
Him,That You Can See With Peter In The
Black And White Pictures.

   A press conference was held May 28,1986
at Hard Rock Cafe In New York City to
announce new 100-plus city tour.Two weeks
of rehearsals at Catskill Mountain Resort.
  Then on May 30,1986 the tour started in
Atlantic City,New Jersey.
  Gary Puckett and The Union Gap Band,
The Grass Roots,and Hermits Hermits
were opening acts for The Monkees,who
were very popular to listen to for your own
pleasure.They had a eight-piece backup-
band,with horn section,provided support,
for The Monkees.Peter played rhythmn
guitar,lead guitar,and his banjo,Micky
used a stand-up electric drum kit at the
frontof the stage,Davy played percussion,
Micky played guitar on Pleasant Valley-
Sunday,at most of the shows.
Arista Records produced a new modern
song.The Monkees Micky Dolenz ,and cool
Peter Tork, did sing the song,that would put 
the group back together,that had a modern
sound called"That Was Then This Is Now".
it went platinum while on their very tour.
    "That Was Then This Is Now" was made
into a music video at the Great Arena in
Jackson,New Jersey on July 25,1986.The
video recieved heavy airplay on MTV this
catapulted it to #20 on Billboard Charts.
It was cool to listen to,when people heard of
it, they had to get the pink single of the band
The Monkees to enjoy.The song chartered on
Billboard #20.To me it was #1.It caused very
happiness,for people growing up, from the 
beginning with the band The Monkees. Prior
to this, you could go to the record store and
pick everyone of their  nine albums of the
band The Monkees,from Rhino Records.Also
Arista had cool albums of The Monkees,with
rare songs on Rhino Records with even many
picture discs.Like Monkee Business that does
show Micky Dolenz with a blond in a lepard
bikini.Then The Monkees on the other side. 
   Davy Jones,Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork
reunited for the first together in twenty years.
The crowds went wild.Rare appearance were
seen with Michael Nesmith in the very cool
Greek Theater.The Monkees,were very truly
happy,when Michael  Nesmith would join
them. on tour.
   In 1987 The Monkees Pool It ,was the first
all new song album under Rhino Records.We
heard the popular Heart And Soul single,by
Peter Tork and Davy Jones wrote songs on
the album.Heart And Soul was the theme of
The Monkees second reunion tour was a big
hit as well,with all new material for the public.
  Davy Jones dresses up like David Lee Roth
and impersonates him,the girls go wild.He has
a softer moment to tells all woman and teenage
girls he loves them.He brings out his cool red
Wurlitzer Piano.He said, he wrote this song for
you woman that supported him all these years.
He wanted you know, how he felt about ladies.
He comes and sings:"I'll Love Your Forever."
The crowds just love the whole Heart and Soul
Tour.We want more of The Monkees singing,
and entertaining us in our lives,is the felling.
  1997 Michael Nesmith wanted to make new
album like Headquarters from 1967.The idea
was no one was going to produce this album
but The Monkees.Everyone was happy and
Justus The Monkees Reunion Tour happened.
  However,things changed by 1999.Columbia
said:"You can't use The Monkees name, it
belongs to us."Things were settled out of court.
Columbia said :" We sold The Monkees to
Rhino Records,See what Rhino Records will do
for you." Rhino Records first came up in 1999
with Rhino Homemade.The Monkees were a
gold mine of rare gems that had  limited copies.
We are talking rare cuts of valuable songs never
produced.and different tracks.Down below you
see in pictures all four The Monkees with a box
set of VHS tapes of the whole series,with even
commercials,and 33 1/3 videos.They come in a
old sixties style television set.In 2003 DVD's
The Monkees Retro Rhino Vision came out.
After Rhino.com formerly, Rhino Records,
finish producing the two box sets of all the
show.They sold the video rights.They only
keep the music rights and The Monkees 
merchandise,that is sold.Like the cool toys,
The Monkeemobile model,pictures,ect.
  Rhino.com again promoted The Monkees,
with The Evening With The Monkees  in
2011.The Monkees Fortieth Anniversary
Reunion Tour With Davy Jones,Micky Dolenz,
and Peter Tork.Head was to be the main type
of feature with extensive videos,commercials,
fan magazines,toys,Kool-Aid,and more.It was
a big hit.
  After Davy Jones died on Febuary 29,2012,
Michael Nesmith, in April, after a private type
of memorial of Davy Jones,made preparations
for The Evening With The Monkees with our
friend Michael Nesmith.When you took him
back. Michael Nesmith as a Monkee,he made
preparations for five years of The Monkees
in twenty-four days.This cool treat for people,
was  MidSummer's Night  With The Monkees.
People just loved it,so in 2014 he came back
with The Monkees In Concert.It was a fast
moving concert with the best tunes,including
Michael Nesmith songs.Rhino still promoting
Peter and Micky The Monkees with the cool
The Evening With The Monkees theme.

 
   After Michael Nesmith said he didn't want to
tour any more. Peter Tork and Micky Dolenz
felt there was still a audience out there.So both of
them opened The Monkees Tour March 27,2015.
The Evening With The Monkees was started Fri.
in California.The result was 1,500 people showed
up,doing a Standing Ovation!Peter and Micky
both hugged each other.The tour goes on until
September 2015. I added every The Monkees
from March 27,2015 and April 2015 22,2015 I

reunion tours for last three years singing to us.
It was 2013 he gave you five years of time that 
both Peter Tork and Micky Dolenz thought was

  In the fall of 2012 to December he did a cool
twelve day concert.Remember Daily Nightly, that
he didn't have a billion dollar Moog Synthesizer,
so he made the sounds,and had you cracking up.
People that loved,so much they still talk about it.
  So you want to see Micky Moog synthesizer?
He had bought the second ever made.It works on
a principle of high voltage,if you do not how this
thing works,and keep it maintained,you could be
killed,by electrocution,or it could catch fire.You
must know how to use a Moog,or hire someone
who does.This is why Michael was not able to get
one.They are costly,and heavy and dangerous.I 
doubt Micky ever took his Moog on tour,when 
he had it.It was only used for The Monkees cool
three songs:Love Is Only Sleeping,Star Collector,
and Daily Nightly which Michael Nesmith wrote.
   Michael Nesmith gave us other cool songs 2012.
How can you forget Papa Gene Blues,which the
first song he composed.His famous Circle Sky,it
was the highlight in Head The Monkees movie in
1968.Then 1966 You Just May Be The One.Also
Topica Tundra,Listen To The Band.Also this cool
song Michael Nesmith asked Michael Murphy to

compose What Am I  Doing Hangin' Around?The
Cool song A Girl I Knew From Somewhere, that
Michael Nesmith composed,and was the first song
recorded on The Monkees Headquarters 1967 and
took #3 on Billboard Charts.Not Bad at all.Who
can't forget Sweet Young Thing.In 2013 Michael
treated us to Door Into Summer,along with five
years of music in twenty-four days.So you should
glad he gave those three years.Michael does solo
tours at times,since he hasn't been singing for a
long time.He showed those three years with cool
twelve string guitars,and his famous signature

alligator shoes.He evened played both a key board
while fastened to his twelve string guitar.Never do
forget him,as he will never forget you.That is why
he rewarded you with five years of music, songs
you haven't heard in years.I know I won't, I am 
grateful to him.That is why he has his own blog,
and what it took to be established artist,composer,
singer and more.Peter Tork and Micky Dolenz are
professionals, and will do fine holding up the band
The Monkees.
    Michael Nesmith love the touring back in 2013
after,The Monkees Tour in Oregon,he told how 
it was different to touring in the 1960's.He did
enjoy himself.After all, didn't he show for three
years with a twelve string,and because you gave
your hearts to him,by welcoming him back, gave
five years of time, in twenty-four days.That's love.
